One of the prominent leaders of the coalition of Native Americans who attempted to drive the British and American colonial families out of the Ohio River Valley was Chief Pontiac. Chief Pontiac was an Ottawa war chief who organized a widespread uprising against the British in 1763, known as Pontiac's War or the Pontiac Rebellion.
