Your task for this discussion post is fairly simple.

1.) Review the main independent/dependent variables/ variables listed on Table 1. Their variable descriptions can be found above in the methods and variable sections. Now, select one of the variables and the MEAN that is shown on the table. and type it into your discussion.

2.) Then, tell the class what that number means as it relates to the current study. For example, if I selected the independent variable "prison population" as my variable of interest, then I would explain to the class what the number 343.25 means as it relates to this specific study. Pay close attention.

3.) You will then go and locate another criminal justice related article (any topic) that has a summary or descriptive table and copy and paste the link to that article in your discussion. You will need to use an article that you have full access to so that the other students in the class can submit a reply based on the article you posted.

Variable: Crime Rate (per 100,000 population)

Mean: 4,918.33

In this study, the crime rate variable represents the number of criminal offenses committed per 100,000 people in the population. The mean crime rate of 4,918.33 indicates the average number of criminal offenses in a given population, taking into account the size of the population. This mean provides an overall measure of the level of crime present within the communities studied.
