Orphaned at an early age, Native American leader Tecumseh spent his childhood watching frontiersman invade the native land. His brother raised him to be a warrior, but it is said that he was so terrified during his first battle, he ran away. By 15 he was tired of seeing the settlers pushing the natives off their land and had joined a band of Shawnee attacking settler’s flatboats along the Ohio River.
