The powers granted to the federal government in the United States are commonly known as federal powers, or sometimes referred to as national powers. These powers are explicitly listed or implied in the U.S. Constitution, particularly in Article I, Section 8, and include the power to regulate commerce, collect taxes, declare war, establish courts, and maintain a military, among others.
