Read about the “Ford Hunger March” (slide 2 of 8). Explain the cause

and the outcome of the protest. This should be a short paragraph.

The cause of the "Ford Hunger March" protest was the severe economic conditions and high unemployment rates experienced during the Great Depression. On March 7, 1932, around 3,000 unemployed Ford Motor Company workers organized a march to the Ford River Rouge Plant in Dearborn, Michigan, to demand jobs, relief, and the end of police harassment against workers. The protesters were met by a line of Dearborn police, Henry Ford's private security force, and Ford Motor Company's private army of 75 armed men. Clashes erupted between the protesters and the security forces, resulting in four protesters being killed and numerous others injured. The outcome of the protest was that it brought attention to the desperate economic situation faced by workers during the Great Depression and highlighted the need for better working conditions and workers' rights. It also led to increased support for the unionization of the automobile industry and a push for labor reforms.
