What is the function (job) of pseudopods?

The function of pseudopods is to enable movement and feeding in certain organisms, particularly amoebas. Pseudopods are temporary, finger-like projections of the cell membrane that extend and retract, allowing the organism to change its shape and move in a crawling or flowing motion. They also aid in the capture and ingestion of food particles by surrounding and engulfing them in a process called phagocytosis. Essentially, pseudopods act as flexible and temporary appendages that serve locomotion and feeding functions in these organisms.
