What is indeterminate or definite sentence

An indeterminate sentence refers to a type of sentence in which the length of time the individual spends in prison is not specified or fixed. In this case, the person may be released based on parole or good behavior after serving a minimum portion of their sentence.

On the other hand, a definite sentence is a fixed term of imprisonment decided by a judge or jury. The individual must serve the entire specified sentence without the possibility of early parole or release.
