was an advocate for?

item2

What did this person accomplish? For the reformer you chose in Item 1, list one thing this person accomplished to help their cause that was mentioned in the course textbook. Give the textbook page number where this information can be found. You may look at your notes, the practice assessment, and/or the course textbook to help you answer this question. You may not use any other sources. Example: Clara Barton contributed to the improvement of healthcare by founding the American Red Cross (page 477). (2 points)

item 3

What did the cause accomplish? Think about the movement or cause this person was part of, as you stated in Item 1. Did the movement solve the larger problem(s) they set out to fix? How did this movement change our society? Begin your answer with "I think," and answer in 50 words or less. (A good answer will be clear, concise, and logical. It will stay focused on the movement you mentioned above, but will not just repeat the information you have already stated.)

Item 1: Dorothea Dix was an advocate for mental health reform.

Item 2: Dorothea Dix accomplished the establishment of several mental health hospitals across the United States. The course textbook mentions this on page 440.

Item 3: I think the cause led by Dorothea Dix made significant strides in the improvement of mental health care. Although it did not completely solve all the problems, the establishment of mental health hospitals and the awareness brought about by the movement led to a positive change in society's perception and treatment of individuals with mental illnesses.
