A llama is an animal native to South America. People have used llamas for
hundreds of years to carry heavy loads. A llama can cover twenty miles a day while
carrying fifty to seventy-five pounds. If a llama is saddled with too much weight, however,
it refuses to move. It lies down on the ground. Then it may spit, hiss, and kick until its
load is lightened.
