At the beginning of the era of the Surem, nobody knew the name of the sun and they wanted a name for it. For this reason they held a council on the bank of the Surem River.

Everyone gave his opinion but no name was found for the sun. Every day they studied the matter. They did not know if it were man or woman and so they couldn't decide whether it would be best to give it a male or female name. The Surem could not agree. They finally invited all the animals of the world to come to a council.

The animals gathered around the Surem River, curious to know why they had been summoned. The Surem explained their dilemma regarding the name of the sun. They requested the animals’ assistance in finding a suitable name that would represent both its warmth and power.

The lion, known for its bravery and strength, was the first to speak. "Let us call it Ra, after the Egyptian sun god, for it radiates with energy and brings life to all living beings." The lion's suggestion received nods of approval from some of the animals, but others remained skeptical.

Next, the wise owl hooted, "Why not name it Surya, after the Hindu sun god? It symbolizes the light of knowledge and is a source of inspiration for many." The birds chirped in agreement, finding the name quite suitable.

The turtle, known for its patience and wisdom, slowly spoke up, "We should name it Sol, like the ancient Romans, for it is the center of our very existence, just as Rome was once the center of civilization." The animals pondered over this suggestion, recognizing the significance of the name.

The eagle, renowned for its far-sightedness, swooped down and suggested, "Let it be called Helios, like the Greek sun god. It inspires awe and fascination, much like the sun itself." The smaller animals nodded in agreement, acknowledging that the name held majesty and grandeur.

As the council continued, each animal offered their own suggestion, from Inti in the Inca mythology to Utu in the Sumerian tradition, each name reflecting a unique perspective on the sun's power and importance.

Finally, the council concluded with a decision. The Surem announced, "Henceforth, we shall name the sun Sol, for it holds the essence of life and illuminates our world with its gentle warmth." The animals agreed, seeing the wisdom in this choice.

And so, the name Sol was bestowed upon the sun by the council on the bank of the Surem River, becoming a testament to the unity and collaboration between beings of different species. From that day forward, whenever the warm rays of light touched their faces, the Surem and all the creatures of the world would remember the council and the name they had chosen together.
