Rewrite 36582472g in units with SI prefixes

The instructions are: Rewrite the followong units with "SI prefixes".

then some of the problems given are as follows:

(a) 36582472 g
(b) 0.000000452 m
(c) 4.62 X 10^-3 s
(I do not understand how to approach these problems. What does it mean by "SI prefixes"?)

The SI units are a system, agreed upon internationally, that scientists will use for units. Here is a site that explains the SI system. This is not something you can absorb in one quick reading. You must think about it while reading through. Then practice will make you comfortable when using the system.

I'm not sure I understand the question either. Kg is a SI unit so you might change the first one to kg. That would be 36582.472 kg. (but g is a prefix, too, so I don't understand how you are to rewrite it.
The second is a SI unit of time as is the meter a SI unit of length. So I don't know how you could rewrite them to make them what they already are.

okay. thank you for all your help DrBob222.

To rewrite 36582472g in units with SI prefixes, we need to convert grams (g) to units such as kilograms (kg) or metric tons (t).

Step 1: Convert grams to kilograms
To convert grams to kilograms, divide the value by 1000 since there are 1000 grams in a kilogram.
36582472g ÷ 1000 = 36582.472 kg

Step 2: Convert kilograms to metric tons
To convert kilograms to metric tons, divide the value by 1000 since there are 1000 kilograms in a metric ton.
36582.472 kg ÷ 1000 = 36.582472 t

Therefore, 36582472g is equivalent to 36.582472 metric tons (t) or 36582.472 kilograms (kg) when expressed in units with SI prefixes.

Instead of me doing this for you, tell me what you don't understand about the assignment? Do you want a particular SI prefix?
