Over the last two lessons, you have worked on identifying your style and determining how to create it. You have even worked on plans for artwork to create. Now you will pull all of that planning together to create a piece of artwork in your style. You may use pencils, pastels, computer drawing programs, or paint to create your piece. You may also create a collage or even use the computer Tux Paint program.

Remember to take into consideration the characteristics of your style that you developed, as well as how you will critique your art piece. Your plans for artistic creations that you developed in the last lesson can serve as a basis for this artistic creation. Once you have completed your artwork, use the Critique worksheet to guide you in the critique of your work based on the characteristics you defined for your style of art. Use the Personal Art Portfolio rubric to see the grading for this assessment. This may help you when you develop your work.
what are some ideas

for creating artwork in your own style?

1. Experiment with different mediums - try using different materials such as acrylic paints, watercolors, or even mixed media to create your artwork. Each medium will give a unique look and feel to your piece.

2. Play with color - if your style focuses on bold and vibrant colors, create a piece using a range of bright hues. Alternatively, if your style leans towards a more muted and subtle color palette, experiment with creating a piece using soft pastel tones.

3. Incorporate symbolism - if your style is characterized by using symbols or motifs in your artwork, consider including meaningful objects or imagery that hold significance to you in your piece. This can add depth and personal meaning to your artwork.

4. Explore different techniques - if your style involves experimenting with different textures or brushstrokes, try incorporating these techniques into your artwork. This can create interesting visual effects and add dimension to your piece.

5. Combine different elements - if your style blends different elements such as realism and abstraction, try incorporating both techniques into your artwork. This can create a unique and visually captivating piece.

6. Take inspiration from nature - if your style is inspired by the natural world, consider creating a piece that showcases the beauty of nature. This can include landscapes, flowers, or animals, and can be done in a realistic or abstract style, depending on your preference.

7. Tell a story - if your style involves narrative or storytelling, consider creating a piece that tells a specific story or evokes a particular emotion. This can be done through the use of characters, settings, or symbols that represent different elements of your story.

Remember to always stay true to your personal style and to push yourself to try new things and experiment with different techniques and materials.
