Although Buddhism has many things in common with Hinduism, the Buddha did not believe in the concept of a supreme deity or gods. In Hinduism, the belief in gods and goddesses is central, and they are worshipped and revered. However, Buddhism focuses on the individual's journey towards enlightenment and the cessation of suffering, rather than the worship of deities or the belief in a creator god.
