In this lesson, we discussed the Black Triangle and the effect of industrialization on Europe's environment. How can industrialization harm the environment? In a short paragraph, describe two environmental issues related to industrialization.

Industrialization can harm the environment in various ways. Firstly, one issue related to industrialization is air pollution. The burning of fossil fuels in industries releases harmful pollutants such as sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, and particulate matter into the atmosphere, leading to the formation of smog, acid rain, and respiratory problems. Secondly, industrialization also contributes to water pollution. Industries often discharge untreated or poorly treated wastewater containing toxic chemicals, heavy metals, and other pollutants into water bodies, contaminating them and harming aquatic life as well as human health if the polluted water is used for drinking or irrigation purposes.
