If the city doesn't pay for restoring the old downtown theater, it will be a crime

against our community's youth. Generations of young citizens have shared many laughs
and tears within those historic walls, all the while building lifelong memories. Who would
dare deprive future generations of the same profound, life-changing experiences? Our
children, both past and present, are worth much more than the $2.2 million cost of the
project.

Why has the author chosen to focus on the children of the community?
to expose the selfish thinking of the community’s main decision-makers
to weight the issue with emotion and pity rather than with concrete facts
to emphasize that the project would benefit everyone in the community

to appeal to the community's sense of responsibility and connection to future generations
