The tension Increased as we followed the cry but as we reached it, the sound vanished into thin air. leaving us standing there, desperate in terror:

Our hope was going away was hours went by. The campgrounds were completely dark, and we were running low on energy. A voice called "Mommy" through the night, just as we were about to go ask for help. Realizing it was Sofia we felt adrenaline through our veins. With hopes that she was safe, we all turned to face the sound and ran in the direction of her cries.
And there she was, unharmed physically, standing in the dark with tears on her face. Everyone let out such a big sigh of relief over our desperate feelings.
