As we begin our unit on Night, Elie Wiesel's powerful memoir of his experiences in Nazi concentration camps, I am reminded of the importance of remembering and learning from this dark chapter in history. We must never forget the millions of innocent lives lost and the systematic dehumanization carried out by the Nazis. It is through understanding and education that we can strive towards a world free of such atrocities and ensure the voices of those who suffered are forever heard.
