What are dessicants

Desiccants are substances that are used to absorb and remove moisture from a given environment, such as air or a closed space. They are commonly used to keep products and materials dry and prevent them from deteriorating due to humidity. Desiccants work by trapping water molecules through a process known as adsorption, where the moisture is attracted to the surface of the desiccant material and held there. Common types of desiccants include silica gel, activated charcoal, calcium chloride, molecular sieves, and clay. Desiccants are widely used in industries such as food packaging, electronics, pharmaceuticals, and shipping to maintain the quality and longevity of products.
