What is celebrated during African Heritage Month in Honduras?

There is no specific African Heritage Month celebrated in Honduras. However, the Afro-Honduran community does celebrate their African heritage and culture throughout the year, particularly during events like Garifuna Settlement Day on November 19th. The Garifuna people are descendants of African slaves who intermarried with the indigenous population of Honduras, and their culture is an important part of the country's heritage. During Garifuna Settlement Day, various activities such as parades, music, dance, traditional food, and cultural exhibitions take place to honor and celebrate the Afro-Honduran heritage.
