When you trip, your foot stops

When you trip, it is not necessarily your foot that stops, but rather your body's momentum gets disrupted causing you to fall or stumble. Tripping usually occurs when your foot catches on an object, carpets, uneven surfaces, or due to the loss of balance. As a result, your body's forward motion gets suddenly halted, leading to a stumble or fall. While your foot may momentarily stop upon tripping, it is the overall disruption in your movement that causes the incident.
