Latin, as the language of the Roman Catholic Church, has heavily influenced religious terminology in English. Greek, being the language of the New Testament in the Bible, has also contributed significantly to religious vocabulary. Hebrew, as the language of the Old Testament in the Bible, has left its mark on religious terminology as well.
