Additionally, the Constitution did not include a Bill of Rights at first, which made me worried about the potential for the government to infringe upon our basic rights. Overall, I would have believed that a stronger central government meant less power for the people.

I would have considered myself a Federalist during the time of the Constitutional Convention. I would have believed that a strong central government was necessary for our country to function effectively. For instance, the Articles of Confederation had proven to be weak and unable to handle important issues like maintaining a national army and regulating trade. I would have supported the idea of a new Constitution that gave more power to the federal government to solve these problems and create a more stable nation.
