1. The Korean War took place from 1950 to 1953.

2. The Korean War began on June 25, 1950, when North Korea, supported by the Soviet Union and China, invaded South Korea. The United Nations, led by the United States, came to the aid of South Korea, initiating a three-year-long conflict. The war saw intense fighting, including the Battle of Inchon, the Battle of Chosin Reservoir, and the 38th parallel becoming the dividing line between North and South Korea. Armistice negotiations began in July 1951, and on July 27, 1953, an armistice agreement was signed, officially ending the war. However, a formal peace treaty was never signed, leaving the Korean Peninsula in a tense state of ceasefire ever since.
