Militarism

Militarism is the belief or desire to maintain a strong military capability and to use it aggressively to impose one's will on other countries or groups. It is often characterized by the glorification of the military, a focus on military strength and preparedness, and the pursuit of aggressive foreign policies. Militarism can also refer to a society or government that prioritizes military power over other societal needs, such as education, healthcare, or social welfare.

Historically, militarism has been associated with periods of conflict and war, as well as the buildup of military forces and arms races. It can undermine democracy and civil liberties, as those in power may prioritize the military's interests over the rights and freedoms of the population. Militarism can also perpetuate a cycle of violence, as aggressive military actions can lead to retaliation and further conflict.
