The book was banned shortly after it was published by the Concord, Massachusetts public library because of many different reaosns. One exmaple was more on MArk twains characters and thier actions. They did many bad things like swear and smoke, there was also interracial relationships which at this time was not accepted. At this time the book was abnned becasue they belived it would lead young people to break laws and social customs. Another reason was the characters dialoge, it icluded improper language, like swear words andslang like smothery, warn't and ain't.
