A laser pointer produces a very narrow laser beam of light. A laser pointer is used to create two models that show how light from a laser beam travels. Model X shows how light travels when it interacts with a mirror. Model Y shows how light travels when it interacts with glass. The models are shown.

On the left, Model X shows a laser pointer shining a laser beam at a plane mirror at a 20 degree angle. The beam bounces off and away from the mirror at a 20 degree angle. On the right, Model Y shows a laser pointer shining a laser beam at a piece of glass at a 0 degree angle. The beam shines through the glass at a 0 degree angle.
