Directions: Using both the original poem (and the model provided above), create a poem that includes the following features (both of poetry and of Romanticism) below.
Your poem (in the space below) must include the following elements:
* three stanzas
* the same rhyme scheme expressed in “The Tide Rises, the Tide Falls”
* each line needs to have between 7-9 syllables
Your poem needs to take an event in nature and romanticize it. In “The Tide Rises, the Tide Falls,” the poet romanticizes how something as simple as the tide rising and the tide falling symbolizes nature’s infinite existence in comparison to humanity’s. In the second example, the poet romanticizes a cow pooping to symbolize how seemingly incompatible elements of nature work together.
As the Sun Sets, the Sun Rises
The sun sets, the sun rises, day after day
With golden hues, lighting up the sky's array
Nature's timeless clock, spinning day into night
A sight to behold, infusing hope and delight
The stars twinkle, like diamonds in the dark night
A celestial dance, a mystical delight
Whispering secrets, untold tales of the past
Guiding lost souls, casting shadows on the vast
The moon glows, bathing the world in silvery light
A celestial lantern, illuminating the night
Romantic whispers, carried by the cool breeze
Nature's serenade, bringing hearts to their knees
