What is cohesion?

The ability of oxygen to unequally share the electrons between itself and hydrogen and create a polar covalent bond

The ability of hydrogen bonds to hold water molecules together to create a surface tension

The ability of water molecules to be attracted to other substances, such as a paperclip.

Cohesion refers to the ability of molecules of the same substance to be attracted and stick to each other. In the case of water, it is the ability of water molecules to be attracted to each other and form hydrogen bonds, which gives water its high surface tension. This cohesive property is also responsible for phenomena like capillary action, where water can move against gravity in narrow spaces.
