A group of people known to have established the Plymouth Colony

The group of people known to have established the Plymouth Colony, also known as the Pilgrims, were a religious separatist group known as the English Puritans. They were seeking religious freedom and wanted to establish a colony where they could practice their faith without persecution. Led by William Bradford, they set sail on the Mayflower in 1620 and arrived in what is now known as Plymouth, Massachusetts in December of that year.
