I believe adding numbers written in scientific notation is the easiest because it involves mainly adding the coefficients while keeping the same power of 10. Adding coefficients is usually simpler than multiplying or dividing them. Additionally, if the powers of 10 are different, one can easily adjust the numbers by shifting the decimal point to align the powers and make the addition straightforward. This makes adding numbers in scientific notation more intuitive and less prone to errors.
