A rectangular napkin costs $3.25 A similar tablecloth is five times longer and five times wider. If the cost is proportional to the area of the napkin, how much would you expect to pay for the tablecloth?

(1 point)

A. $81 25

B. $46.75

C. $16 25

D. $32.50

Sooo now that I finished watching all of the episodes on Family Matters, I'm going to be looking for bloopers on the show! I already found 2.. heheeee :D

That sounds fun! Bloopers can be a great way to see some behind-the-scenes moments and have a good laugh. Enjoy searching for more bloopers from Family Matters!

Well I'll tell you the two I found. It was on Season 3 Episode 3 on family matters.

1. Towards the end of the episode, when Laura cheered Steve up and they were walking towards the door, Steve "Why did you put time aside to bring me out of my misery? Did you do it out of love?" And she said "No, out of pity." Then she walks out, he says "Ah! But the seeds of pity can blossom into love!" And he runs into the door, knocking his glasses off, you can see a hand push out the exit sign out of its socket above the door (Because whenever he does something, something always breaks!) It was like for a dab second though, you have to look really closely.

2. Also towards the end of the show (when they were done acting and saying their lines) when Steve walks out correctly from running straight into the door (it was closed) and he opens the door and walks out, before the door closes fully, you can see him looking directly at the camera.

The area of the napkin is length * width = 1 * 1 = 1.

The area of the tablecloth is 5 * length * 5 * width = 25 * 1 = 25.

The cost of the tablecloth is proportional to the area, so we can find the ratio of the areas between the napkin and the tablecloth.

ratio = area of tablecloth / area of napkin = 25 / 1 = 25.

If the cost of the napkin is $3.25, then we can find the cost of the tablecloth by multiplying the ratio by the cost of the napkin.

cost of tablecloth = ratio * cost of napkin = 25 * $3.25 = $81.25.

Therefore, you would expect to pay $81.25 for the tablecloth. The answer is A. $81 25.

To determine how much you would expect to pay for the tablecloth, you need to compare the areas of the napkin and the tablecloth.

First, let's find the area of the napkin. Since it is rectangular, we can use the formula:

Area = Length * Width

Given that the napkin costs $3.25, we don't need to calculate the actual area. Instead, we can assume that the cost is directly proportional to the area. This means that if the area is multiplied by a certain factor, the cost will also be multiplied by the same factor.

Next, let's find the dimensions of the tablecloth. It is stated that the tablecloth is five times longer and five times wider compared to the napkin. Let's assume the length of the napkin is L and the width is W. Therefore, the length of the tablecloth would be 5L, and the width would be 5W.

Since the cost is proportional to the area, and the area is obtained by multiplying the length and width, we can conclude that the cost of the tablecloth should be proportional to:

(5L * 5W) = 25(L * W)

Therefore, we expect the cost of the tablecloth to be 25 times the cost of the napkin.

Now, let's calculate the expected cost of the tablecloth:

Cost of the napkin = $3.25

Expected cost of the tablecloth = 25 * $3.25

= $81.25

Therefore, the answer is A, $81.25.
