One profession that declined significantly because of the Industrial Revolution is the craftsperson. Before the Industrial Revolution, many goods were produced by skilled artisans who crafted them by hand. With the advent of new machinery and mass production methods, goods could be produced faster and cheaper in factories, leading to a decline in demand for handcrafted goods. This resulted in a decline in the number of craftspersons and their traditional professions such as blacksmiths, weavers, potters, and woodworkers.
