Where do earthquakes occur?

Earthquakes can occur in various locations around the world, but they are most commonly found along the edges of tectonic plates. These boundaries, known as fault lines, include regions such as the Pacific Ring of Fire, where the Pacific Plate meets several other plates, and the Alpide Belt, which stretches from the Mediterranean region, through the Himalayas, and into Southeast Asia. However, earthquakes can also happen in other areas, such as within tectonic plates, known as intraplate earthquakes, and even in regions with few tectonic activities, like in the middle of the continents.
