• Synagogues became more important for worship.

With the destruction of the Second Temple in Jerusalem in 70 CE and the consequent dispersal of Jews around the world, known as the Diaspora, the central place of worship and sacrifice disappeared for Jewish communities. As a result, synagogues, which had already been a part of Jewish life, became the primary setting for communal worship.
