The Buddha believed that following the Eightfold Path could lead to an end to desires and suffering. This is a key aspect of Buddhist teaching, as it is part of the Fourth Noble Truth, which outlines the Path leading to the cessation of suffering (dukkha) and eventually to Nirvana. The Eightfold Path consists of the right understanding, right thought, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right mindfulness, and right concentration, and it's aimed at developing wisdom, ethical conduct, and mental discipline. This path is also often referred to as the Middle Way, which avoids the extremes of sensual indulgence and severe asceticism.
