An antique is an object that is valued because of its age. Many antiques are over 100 years old. Some people spend countless hours trying to make a profit by appraising, buying, and selling antiques. Marketable antiques usually need to be in excellent, even working, condition. Antique hunters also look to add to their own personal collections. In fact, the motivation to antique is sometimes the sentiment surrounding the objects. People find value in something that makes them feel warm memories. For other antique hunters, the thrill of the hunt is the best motivation to antique. Antiques sell all over the world: at garage sales, flea markets, swap meets, bazaars, and sandy streets. To meet antiquers is to meet some of the most colorful characters around.
