They act as coenzymes, playing a crucial role in metabolism, immunity, energy production, and overall growth and development. Vitamins are classified into fat-soluble (such as vitamins A, D, E, and K) and water-soluble (such as the B-complex vitamins and vitamin C).
b. Minerals: Minerals are inorganic substances required for normal bodily functions. They play roles in maintaining fluid balance, transmitting nerve impulses, forming bones and teeth, muscle contraction, and regulating enzyme activity. Examples of minerals include calcium, iron, potassium, zinc, and magnesium.

Both macronutrients and micronutrients are essential for maintaining good health and well-being. A well-balanced diet that includes a variety of food sources is essential to ensure an adequate intake of both macronutrients and micronutrients.
