Accountants look to the past, present, and future to make sure a business is running properly. Accountants prepare and examine the prior year’s financial records of both businesses and individuals. They ensure that accurate, up-to-date financial records are kept and that proper taxes are paid on time. Accountants assess the financial operations of a person or an organization. What they find helps to influence many decisions on the direction people and businesses take in the next several weeks, months, and years.
