Lenny is making his own laundry soap

in order to save money and reduce his environmental impact. He researched different recipes online and decided to try a simple, homemade laundry soap recipe that uses natural ingredients.

First, Lenny gathered all the necessary ingredients, including:

- 1 bar of soap (such as Castile soap or any mild soap of his choice)
- 1 cup of washing soda (sodium carbonate)
- 1 cup of borax (sodium borate)
- Optional: essential oils for fragrance (such as lavender or lemon)

Next, Lenny grated the bar of soap finely using a cheese grater. He made sure the soap was evenly grated to avoid any clumps in the final product.

Once the soap was grated, Lenny mixed it with the washing soda and borax in a large bowl. He stirred the mixture thoroughly to combine all the ingredients.

If Lenny wanted to add a pleasant scent to his laundry soap, he carefully added a few drops of his chosen essential oil to the mixture. He mixed it again to distribute the fragrance evenly.

Now that the laundry soap was ready, Lenny stored it in an airtight container, such as a mason jar or a plastic container with a tight lid. This would prevent moisture from getting in and keep the soap fresh.

To use his homemade laundry soap, Lenny simply scooped out about 1-2 tablespoons (or as needed) and added it to each load of laundry in the washing machine. He ensured it dissolved completely before starting the wash cycle.

Lenny was thrilled with the results of his homemade laundry soap. Not only did it clean his clothes effectively, but it also left a subtle, refreshing scent. Plus, he saved money and did his part in reducing packaging waste by not buying commercial laundry detergents.

He shared his laundry soap recipe with his friends and family, encouraging them to give it a try and enjoy the benefits of homemade cleaning products.
