Emperor Asoka's achievements reflected the ideals of Buddhism by promoting peace and non-violence throughout his empire. He adopted Buddhist principles and encouraged his subjects to live morally and ethically. Asoka also erected pillars with inscriptions spreading Buddhist teachings and spread the religion across Asia.
