What religions did people in each civilization practice? Did any other religions

emerge in either region? Egypt and Indus Valley

In ancient Egypt, the main religion was centered around the worship of various gods and goddesses. They believed in the afterlife and that the pharaoh was a divine ruler. The most important deities were Osiris, Isis, Horus, and Amun-Ra. Egyptians also practiced ancestor worship and performed complex rituals and ceremonies to ensure a good afterlife for their deceased.

In the Indus Valley civilization, which flourished around 2600 BCE to 1900 BCE, there is little known about their religious beliefs. The lack of deciphered texts from that time makes it challenging to fully understand their religious practices. However, some artifacts suggest the existence of a mother goddess figure and male deities associated with animals. They might have also believed in fertility-related rituals.

It's worth noting that both ancient Egypt and the Indus Valley civilization predated the emergence of major world religions like Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, which arose later in different regions. These religions did not exist during the time of the mentioned civilizations.
