Tara yosso 2005

Tara Yosso is a professor of Chicana and Chicano Studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara. In 2005, she published an influential article titled "Whose culture has capital? A critical race theory discussion of community cultural wealth" in the journal Race, Ethnicity, and Education.

In this article, Yosso introduced the concept of "community cultural wealth" as a way to challenge deficit-based views of marginalized communities. She argued that communities of color possess cultural knowledge, skills, and networks that are often unrecognized and undervalued in mainstream institutions. Yosso identified six forms of community cultural wealth: aspirational, linguistic, familial, social, navigational, and resistant capital.

Yosso's work has been highly influential in the fields of education and critical race theory. Her framework of community cultural wealth has been used to inform educational practices that promote cultural diversity and inclusion.
