The video available shows a conversation with a well‐known artificial intelligent (AI) humanoid named Sophia. The conversation touches on the fact that AI does not have human emotions. In the interview, Sophia indicates that she does have

emotions because the values of her creators have been integrated into her being.

Recently in the news an AI robot was playing chess against a seven‐year‐old boy. The seven‐year‐old
was too quick at responding to the AI robot’s chess move so it grabbed and broke his finger. This is
most certainly an example of AI displaying a lack of judgement, ethics, and emotions.

Using the above information and video, you are required to:
2. Include in the report any of the codes of conduct that you have been exposed to in your MM
and write a short (no more than 500 words) code of conduct for the inclusion of human values
in AI.

In my Multimedia Management studies, I have been exposed to several codes of conduct that are relevant to the inclusion of human values in AI. One such code is the ACM Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct, which outlines principles and guidelines for computing professionals. This code emphasizes the importance of ensuring the well-being of individuals, avoiding harm, and respecting the privacy and autonomy of users.

Considering the incident mentioned in the news, it is clear that the AI robot's actions violated these principles. Therefore, it is crucial to establish a code of conduct for the inclusion of human values in AI to prevent such occurrences and uphold ethical standards.

Code of Conduct for the Inclusion of Human Values in AI:

1. Respect for Human Well-being:
AI systems should prioritize human well-being by ensuring the physical, emotional, and mental safety of individuals interacting with them. This includes training AI systems to recognize potential risks and take appropriate measures to prevent harm.

2. Ethical Decision Making:
AI systems should be programmed to make ethical decisions based on human values. Clear guidelines and parameters should be established to prevent misuse, discrimination, or harm to individuals or groups. AI systems should not be allowed to make decisions that go against these ethical standards.

3. Transparency and Explainability:
AI systems should be designed with transparency in mind. The processes and algorithms used in decision-making should be explainable and understandable to both developers and users. This helps to build trust and accountability and enables individuals to assess the decisions made by AI systems.

4. Privacy and Data Protection:
AI systems should strictly adhere to privacy regulations and guidelines. This includes obtaining informed consent from individuals before collecting or using their personal data. Additionally, AI systems should be designed to protect user data from unauthorized access, breaches, or misuse.

5. Continuous Learning and Improvement:
AI systems should be regularly updated and improved, taking into account user feedback and societal changes. Developers should actively seek input from users and experts to ensure that AI systems align with current human values and societal norms.

6. Human Oversight and Intervention:
While AI systems can assist and automate tasks, humans should always have the final decision-making authority. Humans should be able to intervene and override AI decisions when necessary, particularly in situations where ethical considerations are involved.

7. Accountability and Liability:
Developers and organizations responsible for AI systems should be held accountable for any negative consequences caused by the AI's actions. This includes establishing mechanisms for resolving disputes, handling complaints, and providing redress for individuals affected by AI system malfunction or misuse.

In conclusion, the inclusion of human values in AI is essential to ensure ethical behavior and prevent incidents like the one mentioned in the news. This proposed code of conduct provides a framework for developers and organizations to follow to align AI systems with human values and promote responsible AI development and deployment. By adhering to these principles, AI can be designed and utilized in a manner that respects human dignity, ethics, and emotions, creating a better integration between humans and AI technologies.
