3) Seed germination: Hormones like gibberellins and abscisic acid play a crucial role in regulating seed germination. Gibberellins stimulate the synthesis of enzymes that break down stored nutrients in the seed, promoting germination. On the other hand, abscisic acid inhibits seed germination and maintains seed dormancy during unfavorable conditions.
