Telescopes give us a unique picture of the beauty and variety of the galaxy. Most are only capable of identifying the hottest and brightest objects in the night sky. Advances in technology eventually led to a telescope called WISE. WISE was specially equipped to find features that are too cold or dim to have been previously noted. WISE took pictures of the sky every 11 seconds. Thousands of asteroids, comets, and small, dark stars called brown dwarfs were photographed.
