Eighth-grader Noah Egler sometimes had a hard time fitting in. He would much rather make electronic devices than play with friends. During a summer workshop, Noah had an opportunity to meet with others who shared his interests. The workshop was usually reserved for medical students. But Noah impressed the director so much that she let him attend. Noah bonded with his 23-year-old lab partner Jarod Markley. Markley told Noah how he had often felt like an outsider in school. "Other kids didn't really understand me. I would rather stay in and read a book," Markley said as Noah's eyes lit up.
