As we finally reached the airport. We went through the motions and finally boarded the plane. This was going to be the perfect holiday!

I was still drowsy from being so abruptly awakened so I closed my eyes and fell asleep. The next thing I knew was that I was in America! I can’t believe I slept for that long. But I didn’t really care, this was going to be the best holiday ever!

At first we saw our grandparents and cousins for the first week of the holiday, after that we drove to the Grand Canyon then we drove to the Statue of Liberty(and bought $300 worth of souvenirs). Before we prepared to see the ancient Mayan temples! We had to return the car to the rental car company, and book a flight to Mexico.

As we finally reached the airport, excitement bubbled up inside me. This was it, the beginning of our long-anticipated holiday. We went through the usual check-in process, the mundane motions that had become all too familiar. But today, it felt different. Today, boarding the plane felt like stepping into a whole new world of adventure.

As I settled into my seat, a wave of fatigue washed over me. The early wake-up call had caught me off guard, and my eyelids felt heavy. Unable to fight it any longer, I closed my eyes and surrendered to sleep.

The next thing I knew, I was jolted awake by the sound of the captain's voice announcing our arrival. America. I blinked, trying to shake off the remnants of slumber. Had I really slept through the entire flight? Disoriented but undeterred, I shrugged off my drowsiness. After all, this was the perfect holiday, and I wouldn't let a little sleepiness ruin it.

The first week was filled with joyous reunions as we reunited with our grandparents and cousins. It was a whirlwind of laughter, hugs, and endless storytelling. Time seemed to warp as we soaked in every moment, savoring the joy of being together after so long.

But then, it was time to hit the road. We embarked on a journey that would take us from the majestic beauty of the Grand Canyon to the iconic Statue of Liberty. The sights were breathtaking, each stop leaving an indelible imprint on our hearts. And of course, we couldn't resist indulging in the tourist experience, coming home with $300 worth of souvenirs from the Statue of Liberty gift shop.

But our thirst for adventure knew no bounds. With a pang of bittersweetness, we bid farewell to the bustling streets of America and prepared for our next destination - the ancient Mayan temples in Mexico. Before we could delve into the mysteries of the past, we had to return the rental car. It felt surreal, leaving behind the familiar comfort of our four-wheeled companion, knowing that our journey was far from over.

With tickets in hand, we boarded the flight to Mexico. The anticipation in the air was palpable, a buzz of excitement coursing through my veins. We were about to step foot in a world shrouded in legends and mysteries, ready to uncover the secrets that lay hidden within the ancient Mayan ruins. Adventure awaited, and I couldn't wait to immerse myself in its embrace.
