who was Emperor Nero

Emperor Nero, born Lucius Domitius Ahenobarbus, was the fifth Roman Emperor, ruling from 54 to 68 AD. He was infamous for his extravagant lifestyle, cruelty, and persecution of Christians. Nero is also remembered for his alleged role in the Great Fire of Rome, during which he supposedly played the lyre while Rome burned. He was the last emperor of the Julio-Claudian dynasty and his reign marked the end of the Pax Romana period. Nero died by suicide in 68 AD.
