Which muscles control urine output

The muscles that control urine output are the detrusor muscle and the external urethral sphincter.

The detrusor muscle is a smooth muscle layer in the wall of the bladder that contracts to squeeze the urine out of the bladder during urination.

The external urethral sphincter is a skeletal muscle that surrounds the urethra and typically remains contracted to maintain urinary continence. It can be voluntarily relaxed to allow urine to pass through the urethra and out of the body during urination.
