Evidence of a new tyrannosaur species, called Yutyrannus huali, has been found in northeastern China. A team of scientists studied three fossil skeletons. Most striking were the remains of down-like feathers on the creature's neck and arm. Scientists suspect the species had feathers that resembled long, thick fur covering much of its body. The fluffy feathers likely helped keep the dinosaur warm. It may also have helped it hide or put on a show for other dinosaurs. If this tyrannosaur relative had feathers, the Tyrannosaurus rex may have had them as well. Scientists say that the evidence seems to be pointing in that direction.

A legendary basketball player, Yao Ming envisioned a new future for himself in 2011. Yao said that he would return to work with his former Chinese team, the Shanghai Sharks, and become their general manager. But he also planned to continue the charitable work for which he had become famous. In 2008, Yao donated $2 million to start the Yao Ming Foundation. Yao established the foundation to rebuild schools destroyed by a massive earthquake in the Sichuan province of China.
